1. PREPARATION - Make sure the item has been removed from grease, dirt and grime as well as other substances that may interfere with the adhesion of your design. The durability of a hydrographic coating depends on a complete and thorough preparation of the surface before painting. The surface should be even and smooth. Any cracks, holes or other irregularities will prevent the paint from adhering correctly to the surface. Insufficient surface treatment results in most failures.2. PRIMER - Use the appropriate primer for your substrate. This may depend on whether it is metal, plastic, fiberglass, ceramic or wood. Your local paint store can provide you with the best option for your market.3. PAINT THE BASE COAT - Paint your preferred base color. Most designs are transparent, so a color you choose would greatly affect your end result.4. ACTIVATION AND DIPPING - Place the film in the water. Make sure the sticky side is down. Remove creases/folds or bubbles under pressure by blowing lightly on it. Wait 60-80 seconds before activating it. Spray the activator as evenly as possible and without disturbing the water too much. Once properly activated, submerge your item by going down into the water at an angle to avoid trapping bubbles.5. WASH - Wash your dipped item with running water to remove sticky residue from the print and let it dry for a while.6. CLEAR COAT - Spray clear coat to protect your print and item when dry.
