It involves a reversible exchange of exchangeable ions in the resin and the aqueous solution, in accordance with the quantity rules of other substances. This method is categorized as cation exchange water treatment if only cations are involved, anion exchange water treatment if only anions are involved, and cation and anion exchange water treatment if both cations and anions are involved. The softness and hardness of water quality can be adjusted according to specific needs, as different types of aquariums have different water quality requirements.
Tips: When the water softening resin replaces a certain amount of hardness ions, such as calcium and magnesium, in the raw water, the regeneration effect may deteriorate. In such cases, the resin must undergo the regeneration method to restore its replacement properties.
Resin regeneration method:
1. Remove the soft water resin and rinse it with tap water. Add 100g of salt to 1kg of tap water and soak the resin in the saline solution for 30-60 minutes, until the resin returns to its original color.
2. Rinse the resin with tap water for 5-10 minutes to remove the salt.
