Twelve-year-old Onyeka doesn't feel like everyone else. She's unhappy with most things, she has strange emotional outbursts without warning, and she's shy. But the worst thing of all is her hair. It's impossible to comb and grows super fast. Onyeka is ashamed of her hair, but luckily there's Cheyenne, the friend who absolutely doesn't care what others think.
But neither of them could ever have imagined that the hair is... magical. When Onyeka saves Cheyenne from drowning, she realizes that she's not just \"a little different\" – she has superpowers.
Onyeka's life changes in an instant, and soon she finds herself on her way to Nigeria where she will meet young people like her, at a school called the Academy of the Sun. It becomes a breathtaking adventure – both terribly difficult and absolutely fantastic. At school, she learns to master her powers and makes friends for life.
No one suspects that someone is preparing an evil plan for the children at the Academy of the Sun. Do Onyeka and her friends stand a chance against someone who wants to achieve power over an entire world?
