Wireless, the outdoor sensor works with 2 AAA batteries and has a notch on the back that allows it to be easily hung on a hook, screw or nail. It transmits data via radio frequency to the base station. In open field and direct line of sight, the distance to the base station can be up to 30 meters. Only walls, obstacles and devices, such as computers, monitors or wireless TV installations located in the immediate vicinity of the base station, can limit the sensor's range and impair its function.

The constant brightness (adjustable in three levels) and uninterrupted operation of the device are ensured by direct power supply via donated food. In the event of a power outage or change of location, a built-in button battery retains recorded data for wake-up time, as well as maximum and minimum temperatures until the next use.
