Deep Drop Tilefish Rig with hooks and luminous squid. What can I expect to catch with this rig? The included deep drop rigs come with circle hooks. The circle hook is an ideal size for tilefish, grouper, golden tilefish, blackbelly rosefish, barrelfish, Red.
How do I use these deep drop fishing rigs? The top of each rig has a 255lb swivel designed to attach to your main line. It can be tied directly to the main line.
Each hook should be baited with fresh bait, such as a piece of squid or cutbait. The 225lb coastlock snap at the bottom of the rig is for attaching your deep drop fishing weight. You don't need an electric fishing reel for deep drop fishing, but it certainly helps when retrieving 3-5 pound deep drop fishing weights. A dedicated deep drop rod helps with the heavier deep drop weights, but again, it's not a necessity. Rinse your deep drop rig with fresh water after use and hang it to dry.
